Educational Qualification:
For all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), it is mandatory to possess a pass certificate of the 10th standard Secondary School Examination. This examination should include the subjects of Mathematics and English, which should have been studied as either compulsory or elective subjects. The examination must be conducted by a recognized Board of School Education under the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India.
The applicant is required to have studied the local language up to at least the Secondary standard. This should have been studied as either a compulsory or elective subject.
Age Limit:

The GDS (Gramin Dak Sevaks) receives emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) along with Dearness Allowance. The TRCA for different categories is as follows:
Branch Postmaster (BPM) – Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 29,380/-
Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) – Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 24,470/-

The applicants will be selected for engagement based on a system-generated merit list.
The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained or the conversion of grades/points to marks in the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) from approved Boards. The marks will be aggregated to a percentage with an accuracy of 4 decimals. It is mandatory to pass all subjects as per the norms of the respective approved board.
